DepEd Updates 2015 BERF Recipients of Region 1

City of San Fernando, La Union – After the successful launch of the Basic Education Research Agenda last July, the 2015 Basic Education Research Fund (BERF) recipients convened for a meeting at the DepEd Regional Office 1 Library on November 28, 2016.

The meeting was intended for the BERF recipients to update them with the status of the BERF 2015 Utilization and relevant Research updates and to address their issues and concerns.

In her message, Assistant Regional Director Bettina D. Aquino welcomed and commended the 25 actual researchers who were able to face all the challenges in pursuing research. ARD Aquino also encouraged them to never give up and to always think that researches are conducted for the benefit of the entire region. She also stressed that Research work does not end with the finished product but instead one must apply it and live it for it to become institutionalized.

As part of the meeting, Ms. Yehlen Yangat, Education Program Specialist II presented the updates on Research as well as the comments on submitted 2nd deliverables. Ms. Catherine N. Esquida, Accountant III also discussed the reminders on Eligible expenses under BERF as well as the comments on submitted liquidation reports.

Open Forum were also conducted for clarification of issues and concerns related to the BERF. These concerns were properly addressed by the speakers.

In closing, Dr. Cecilia P. Rosido, Chief of Policy, Planning and Research Division (PPRD) assured the recipients that DepEd Regional Office headed by Dr. Alma Ruby C. Torio will continuously support and assist them in fulfilment of their research. Dr. Rosido also reminded them to finish their research and continue to be a part of the DepEd family.
