  1. The Department of Education (DepEd) issued the Guidelines on the Implementation of the Educational Service Contracting and Teachers Salary Subsidy Programs in Junior High School for School Year 2017-2018 through DepEd Order No. 20, s. 2017.  However, Item VII.D. Amount of ESC Grant of the enclosure is hereby amended as follows:

  1. The increase in the subsidy amounts is intended to lessen the amount of top-up fees shouldered by students and their families.  The additional tier in the location of the school is to align the ESC subsidy scheme with that of the Senior High School Voucher Program (SHS VP).  Both the increase and tiering were approved by the State Assistance Council (SAC) through a referendum.  Both apply only to the subsidies of Grade 7 grantees for SY 2017-2018.  The amount of subsidy for Grades 8-10 grantees shall still be the same as in the previous school year.
  1. All other provisions of DO 20, s. 2017 shall remain in full force and effect.
  1. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is directed.
