Executive Order No. 202 in December 24, 1969 created the Presidential Commission to Survey Philippine Education (PCSPE). The PCSPE policy and project recommendations became the basis of major educational reforms beginning in 1972.Presidential Decree 6-A (amended by PD 1235) in September 29, 1972 called for the creation of an ad-hoc project implementing unit, the Educational Development Project Implementing Task Force (EDPITAF) under the office of the Secretary of Education.
Executive Order No. 117 in January 1987 reaffirmed the continued existence of EDPITAF in the reorganized Department of Education, Culture and Sports.

GOS-GOP EDUCATION PROJECT 2006-2007 Government of Spain through the Agencia Española de Cooperation International (AECI) To improve the quality of education through the provision/rehabilitation of classrooms and delivery training programs for teachers in areas hardly hit by typhoons, affected by the armed conflict and pilot areas of the Spain-Philippines Cooperation.
Project Components/Inputs: · Construction/Rehabilitation of Classrooms · Provision of basic school furniture · Orientation of school heads on the maintenance of schoolbuildings · Support to DepED’s Every Child A Reader Program (ECARP) through the training of Grades 1-3 teachers on how to effectively teach reading · Support to DepED’s National English Proficiency Program (NEPP) through the training of secondary school teachers on how to use the English Language in the delivery of instructions in Science and Mathematics Geographical Coverage: Division of Aurora (R-III), Quezon (R-IV-A), Iloilo (R-VI), Zamboanga City (R-IX), Lanao del Norte (R-X), Lanao del Sur (ARMM) and Cotabato Province (R-XII) |

To improve the teaching and learning of basic education in Region XI, XII, and ARMM and to implement strategies that will provide opportunities for all children in these three regions to access quality education and develop key life skills. Project Components/Inputs:

STRIVE-PANINGKAMOT 2005-2007 Government of Australia through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID)
To assist DepED in improving the performance of students in Science, Mathematics and English and to provide basic education and/or livelihood opportunities for out-of-school children, youth and their families.
