Time Allotment for Physical Education in Secondary Education Curriculum

  1. DECS Order No. 35, s. 1996 entitled “Revised BPESS Program” provides for an increase in the time allotment of for Physical Education (PE) classes from 80 to 120 minutes per week for first to fourth year levels.
  2. For school year 1997-1998, PE may be taught 2 times a week with the time allotment of sixty (60) minutes per session.
  3. Schools where 2 or more shifts of classes are followed can make adjustments provided that the time allotments for Health, Music/Arts and CAT are not reduced. Inclosed is a suggested schedule.
  4. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is desired.
