To ensure the effectiveness of the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics in basic education, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the National Science Teaching Instrumentation Center (NSTIC) and in coordination with the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE), shall provide packages of basic Science and Mathematics Equipment compliant to the K to 12 Curriculum for Grades 7 to 10.
To support the strengthening of Science and Technology Education in basic education, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the National Science Teaching Instrumentation Center (NSTIC) shall distribute packages of Science and Mathematics equipment, including laboratory glassware and storage cabinets, to Special Science Elementary Schools (SSES) and to selected low-performing public elementary and secondary schools.
This is to direct all high schools with non-working computer units that are out of warranty to communicate with identified Technical-Vocational (Tech-Voc) Schools nearest to their schools with the capability to provide repair and maintenance of said DepEd equipment.
This DepEd Order is issued to update as of November 4, 2010 the technical specifications of the different ICT Equipment and Internet Access Services stated in DepEd Order No. 28, s. 2009.
To ensure effective and efficient use of computer and network facilities, the Information Communications and Technology Unit (ICTU) has formulated the guidelines on the proper use of computer and network facilities in all DepEd administrative offices and public schools. During the consultative meeting, the participants were able to produce complete listings of Science and Mathematics Equipment, Laboratory Glassware and Consumables.
