The Department of Education (DepEd) through the Bureau of Elementary Education (BEE) and the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE) is implementing the Special Education (SPED) program for learners with special needs and disabilities, including those who are gifted and talented.

To provide the field with learning resources (LRs) namely: teaching guides (TGs) and learners’ manuals (LMs) for Quarter 3 (Q3) and Quarter 4 (Q4) of the Grades 1 and 7 of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum, the Department of Education (DepEd) is downloading funds for the reproduction of the said materials in accordance with the guidelines set in Enclosure No. 1 of this Order.

With its commitment to give quality educational services to children with special needs, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the Special Education (SPED) Division of the Bureau of Elementary Education (BEE) has facilitated the granting of financial subsidy for the School Year (SY) 2012-2013 to support the implementation for the 345 recognized Elementary SPED Centers with an aggregate amount of One Hundred Eighty Million and Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP180,500,000.00).

Pursuant to Item 4. g, “Support to Kindergarten Education Programs” of DepEd Order No. 37, s. 2011, entitled “Policies and Guidelines on the Implementation of the Uniueral Kindergarten Education for School Year (SY) 2011-2012,” the Instructional Materials Council Secretariat (IMCS) has allocated the amount of 150 Million Pesos from the Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 Textbook Funds to provide Basic Instructional Package to schools implementing the Kindergarten Education Programs.

This Department issued the DepEd Order No. 112, s. 2009 entitled “List of Approved Supplementary Reading and Reference Materials”. Item no. 2.b, last sentence reads The enclosed non-exclusive list shall be regularly updated in accordance with the evaluation standards and criteria set by DepEd Instructional Materials Council Secretariat (IMCS).

This Order intends to advocate to all stakeholders the allocation of centrally procured Supplementary Reading/Reference Materials (SRMs) and other Instructional Materials (OIMs) for the Library Hubs.

For CY 2009, each of the seventeen (17) schools designated as Regional Science High Schools (RSHSs) shall be granted an annual subsidy based on a fixed allocation of One Million Pesos (PhP1,000,000.00) and a variable allocation of Two Thousand Pesos (PhP2,000.00) per student based on the enrolment of the school to augment their regular allocation for Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).
