The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Technical-Vocational Unit (TVU) of the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE) has continuously provided the recognized implementing schools of the Strengthened Technical and Vocational Education Program (STVEP) with various intervention strategies, including program support funds for instructional delivery, and other program services.
In order to have a standard costing and to systematize the competency assessment of the Strengthened Technical-Vocational Education Program (STVEP) being implemented in technical-vocational schools, the Department of Education (DepEd) adopts and implements the modified Assessment Scheme of the Technical-Vocational Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The Guidelines on the Allocation of the 2011 Intervention Funds for the Redesigned/Strengthened Technical-Vocational Education Program (STVEP) is contained in the Enclosure.
Pursuant to DepED Order No. 73, s. 2009, DepED Order No. 95, s. 2009 and the Approved Authority signed by the Secretary dated September 9, 2009 to download the Tech-Voc Intervention Funds for Tools and Equipment, schools concerned (282 tech-voc public high schools) may now start procuring based on the four (4) priority areas of specialization and technical drawing being offered.
To attain the Department of Education’s goals of providing high school students with relevant skills through the STVEP, to prepare them for higher education, world of work and for entrepreneurship, this Department through the Tech-Voc Task Force (TVTF), Office of the Secretary, is allocating funds (chargeable against the Strengthened/Redesigned Tech-Voc Education Program budget for FY 2008) for tools and equipment and competency assessment subsidy. Enclosure No. 1 shows the breakdown of allocation by region, division, and by school.
