In order to have a standard costing and to systematize the competency assessment activities of the technical-vocational (Tech-Voc) Senior High School graduates under the K to 12 Basic Education Program in 2018, the Department of Education (DepEd) adopts the modified Technical-Vocational Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Assessment scheme.

The Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front have signed the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro on October 15, 2012. To support the peace agreement, both parties have launched the Sajahatra Program.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9498 otherwise known as the General Appropriations Act, FY 2008, the amount of PhP 3.76 Billion is appropriated to address the classroom requirements of schools belonging to the Red and Black codes of the Basic Education Information System (BEIS).

The appropriation for the CY 2008 DepED School Building Program for areas experiencing acute classroom shortage will be utilized to address the classroom requirements of schools belonging to the Red & Black codes of the Basic Education Information System (BEIS). Red and Black Schools refers to: (1) where the number of students divided by the existing number of classrooms shall result to a classroom-student ratio of 1:56 or more, (2) those where classrooms are temporary in nature or makeshift structures; or (3) those without any classrooms at all.

The appropriation for the CY 2008 Regular School Building Program was allocated by legislative districts in accordance with the allocation criteria under R.A. 7880. Enclosed are the Guidelines for the Preparation of Priority List of School Buildings to be funded under this program marked Annex “A”.

Corollary to the Special Provisions on DepED Regular School Building Program of the 2005 and 2006 General Appropriations Act (re-enacted budget) General Appropriations Act and pursuant to R.A. 7880, 50% of the school building projects will be administered by DPWH.
