DepEd Orders
The Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) is an annual budget of the Department for its School Building Program, which covers the improvement and maintenance of school facilities.
In line with the goal of the Department of Education (DepEd) to establish accurate and comprehensive data on school buildings, all public elementary and secondary schools are directed to participate in the National Inventory of DepEd Public School Buildings for SY 2014-2015.
A Special Provision of Republic Act No. 10352 (General Appropriations Act, Fiscal Year 2013) states that 1% of the total appropriations of the Basic Educational Facilities Funds (BEFF) is authorized to be deducted and utilized for Engineering and Administrative Overhead (EAO) Funds.
The Calendar Year 2014 Regular School Building Program (CY 2014 RSBP) of the Department of Education (DepEd) shall be allocated by legislative district in accordance with the allocation criteria mandated under Republic Act No. 7880 entitled An Act Providing for the Fair and Equitable Allocation of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports Budget for Capital Outlay.
Public elementary and secondary schools are ordered to accept “emergency transferees” caused by typhoon Yolanda, despite insufficient transfer credentials. Their school records shall be updated once the Department of Education (DepEd) operations in the affected areas have normalized. For initial tracking of pupil and student data, all concerned are advised to collect the information indicated in the enclosure to this Order.
The Department of Education (DepEd) has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) for the construction of various school buildings nationwide. Under this Agreement, the PAGCOR shall provide funds which shall be utilized for the construction of classrooms in priority areas as determined by both DepEd and PAGCOR.
