In line with the National Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Policy Framework (DepEd Order No. 62, s. 2011), particularly the policy thrusts to “implement stronger affirmative action to eradicate all forms of discrimination against IPs in the entire Philippine education system” and to “uphold and advocate the protection of the intellectual property rights of IPs”, the Department of Education (DepEd) is adopting the enclosed Guidelines on the Conduct of Activities and Use of Materials Involving Aspects of Indigenous Peoples Culture.

The Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) in all elementary schools has been institutionalized in recognition of the need to organize a pupil governing body in the elementary school through DepEd Order No. 45, s. 2007 entitled Institutionalization of the Supreme Pupil Government in All Elementary Schools Nationwide. However, some provisions have been amended and added to said guidelines.
Recognizing the significant role and contributions of the Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) and Supreme Student Government (SSG) in the schools and under the Student Governments Program (SGP), the Department of Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed Constitution and By-Laws of the Supreme Pupil Government in Elementary Schools and the Supreme Student Government in Secondary Schools, together with other documents, for implementation in all schools nationwide starting School Year (SY) 2014-2015 and onwards.
To further attain the goals of the Department of Education (DepEd) in relation to Education for All (EFA) and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and in the effort to reach all types of learners, this Department through the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) revitalizes the ALS for Persons with Disability (ALS for PWD) Program which is also formerly known as ALS for Differently-Abled Persons (ALS-DAP).
For the information and guidance of all concerned, enclosed is a copy of Joint Circular No. 1, s. 2014 dated September 9, 2014 entitled Assessment of DepEd Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Grade 9 Public Secondary School Teachers approved by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
In line with the goal of the Department of Education (DepEd) to establish accurate and comprehensive data on school buildings, all public elementary and secondary schools are directed to participate in the National Inventory of DepEd Public School Buildings for SY 2014-2015.
The Department of Education (DepEd) hereby issues this Order to clarify the process and simplify documentary requirements for travel authority requests for official travel abroad.
In line with the initiative to establish an accurate and reliable registry of learners in the Learner Information System (LIS), all public elementary and secondary schools, with technical assistance from their respective Schools Division Offices (SDO) are hereby directed to review and correct the identified data issues in the SY 2014-2015 Learner Profiles in the system.
