DepEd Caraga conducts Moral Empowerment Program

Deped Caraga through the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), conducted a one (1) day seminar entitled “Moral Recovery Program” in compliance with Republic Act No. 6713 otherwise known as the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees held on March 18, 2016.

The seminar was perfectly timed in preparation for the Holy Week Celebration. However, not all Regional Office Personnel attended as some of them also had other activities to attend to on the same date. As they say, “Many are called but few are chosen.” Nevertheless, the activity was a huge success.

Dr. Ramir B. Uytico, CESO IV said in his message, “The activity today could be regarded as the call of time not because of the incoming Holy Week but due to the fact that we commit mistakes in our day to day activities.” He warmly welcomed the attendees as he expressed his deep gratitude for their coming. “All of us will go to God. Let us open our hearts to whatever is shared by the speaker so that there will be expected changes. Empowerment means to do what is right and to avoid what is wrong,” Dr. Uytico added.

The management sees the necessity to conduct the said activity to provide all working forces the opportunity to reassess their practices in accordance with the working values and morality consistent with Christian teachings. At the same time, it enables all personnel to reflect on the meaning of one’s everyday life and his relationships with others, to appreciate the basic truths of Christianity, and to build a community in a work place with a sense of belongingness.

The main speaker, Bro. Roland Yu of EGF (Experiencing God with Family) spoke about work values using related bible stories and personal anecdotes. Bro. Yu was able to simplify difficult concepts, making them easy to understand to the delight and satisfaction of his audience.

The one day activity culminated with a mass at 4:00 pm officiated by Rev. Fr. Jober Rivera, Director of Religious Affairs, Father Saturnino Urios University, Butuan City.
