DEPED NIR TO HOLD FIRST REGIONAL BRIGADA ESKWELA LAUNCHING

20 May 2016 – Department of Education Negros Island Region will conduct its First Regional Brigada Eskwela Launching on May 27, 2016 at the Kabankalan Plaza, Kabankalan City with approximately 3,000 participants from the 16 divisions in the Negros Island consisting of internal and external stakeholders.
 
Undersecretary Mario A. Derequito, Undersecretary for Partnerships, Dir. Mila Talino, together with Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad, OIC-ARD Salustiano T. Jimenez, and Mr. Adolf P. Aguilar, Lead Coordinator for ESSD will spearhead this year’s launching.
 
DepEd NIR aims to strengthen the implementation of the Brigada Eskwela (BE) in the NIR School Divisions and maximize the number of volunteers during the Schools Maintenance Week on May 30 to June 4, 2016.
 
A Brigada Eskwela Caravan will kick-off from the various Schools Divisions as early as 4:00 AM which will converge at two different Senior High Schools -Mabinay National High Schools and Florentino Galang Memorial High School - to propel the Brigada Eskwela Launching.
 
School Divisions from Guihulngan City, Bais City, Tanjay City, Bayawan City, and Negros Oriental will all gather at the Mabinay National High School at 7:00 AM for an Ecumenical Celebration and a short Kick-Off Program.
 
Likewise, a similar activity will be conducted simultaneously at Florentino Galang Memorial High School which will be attended by the School Divisions of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, and Bacolod City.
 
The rest of the divisions will proceed directly to Kabankalan City. All participants will all pool together at the Kabankalan Plaza at 10:00 AM for the Opening Program and Senior High School Exhibits and the Ceremonial Launching at 1:00 PM at the Kabankalan Evacuation Center.
 
As the Senior High School gathers momentum in its first year of implementation this school year, DepEd NIR Secondary School Heads shall take the lead in the BE Launching and Caravan to move volunteers in the preparation of schools to welcome Grade 11 students.
 
These activities reaffirm the Department of Education’s commitment to mobilize stakeholders to contribute their time, effort, and resources in the schools maintenance effort in ensuring that all public school facilities are safe and ready for the school opening.
