Davao wrestler Pamor flexes muscle, takes down CALABARZON’s Manyeha in elimination round

Pouring in his expertise, Janry R. Pamor of Region XI secured his spot in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa 58 kg Wrestling - Secondary Boys, as he beat his opponent from Region IV-A CALABARZON, Wilson Manyeha, during the Elimination Round held at Barangay Titong, Multi-Purpose Covered Court, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

In the first round, Pamor struggled against his opponent but he remained patient in searching for the chance to make a successful assault.

“Sacrifices can be worth if you will work hard. They drive me to work even harder no matter what. This is my first time and all I want to do is to strive hard,” Pamor said in an interview after the game.

Pamor wowed the crowd inside the venue with his stunning performance as he showed consecutive shoot and take-the-back attacks during the game.

Manyeha has greater advantage when it comes to body size and experiences but Pamor never treated it as a hindrance to his goal to be one of the best among the veterans in his weight class.

“I was the one with the smallest body size among the wrestlers in our weight class but I didn’t mind it because I believe that I excel in tactics to overpower my opponent,” Pamor said.

According to Pamor’s Assistant Coach, Zeneth Yucot, Pamor is very disciplined when it comes to his training and he has the attitude of being positive.

Despite all the difficulties he encountered as an athlete, he remained resolute his goal to develop his skills and to qualify to the finals in 58kg Wrestling in Palarong Pambansa 2018.
