Statement of the DepEd Employees Union on K to 12

We, the officers and  and members, of the National Employees Union of the Department of Education (DepEd) express our full support to the K to 12 Program and the implementation of the Senior High School (SHS) program which will commence this SY 2016-2017.

We affirm that K to 12 is a timely intervention and a necessary move that will upgrade the standard of our basic education system. 

NEU is with the Department and the entire nation as it welcome this milestone in the history of our education system with the opening of SHS this June.

Angkinin ang pagkakataon

Sinasabi na kapag meron tayong ibinigay, meron din sa ating babalik.
 
Sa usapin ng K to 12, ang hinihingi sa atin ng pamahalaan ay ang pagbubukas ng isip upang tanggapin ang isang malawakang pagbabago na inaasahang magpapabago din sa sistema ng edukasyon at sa atin mismong pagtingin sa edukasyon.
 
Mahirap tanggapin sa una na ang dating apat na taon ng pag-aaral ay madadagdagan pa ng dalawang taon para sa mas masusing paghahanda sa mundo ng hanapbuhay o mas mataas pang edukasyon.
 

DepEd Caraga holds Regional K to 12 Conference

BUTUAN CITY – “Individually, we are one drop, together we are an ocean”, an inspiring quotation or wisdom which posed challenges to all the participants that in the full implementation of K to 12 program it requires unified effort to make the execution successful. OIC-Regional Director DR. MAY B. ECLAR, CESO V said upon ending the panel discussion of Regional K to 12 Conference held on January 25-26, 2016, Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City.

Statement of Secretary Br. Armin Luistro FSC on SC denial of TRO on K to 12 Program

"We thank the Supreme Court (SC) for denying the TRO on the suspension of the K to 12 Program as announced in today's SC press conference.

While we have not received the official documents with decision of the Justices, this announcement allows DepEd and our stakeholders to focus on the urgent remaining tasks for the opening of Grade 11 by June this year.

At the same time, we appeal to the SC petitioners and those who may still have concerns on the program to work with us even more closely so we can address the any remaining challenges."

DepEd holds National K to 12 Conference

DepEd opens application for Senior High School teachers

The Department of Education (DepEd) calls on interested teachers, professionals, practitioners, and experts to apply for full-time and part-time teaching positions for Grades 11 and 12 for the School Year (SY) 2016-2017.

Applicants must be interested in teaching the core curriculum and/or applied and specialized subjects under the four Senior High School (SHS) tracks. 

DepEd, educ stakeholders team up for K to 12 full implementation in QC

The local government of Quezon City and education stakeholders from different sectors gathered together for the Senior High School (SHS) summit on the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track with Information Technology (IT) as the focus industry yesterday.
 
Education Secretary Armin Luistro FSC lauded the efforts of the city to ensure that the TVL curriculum is both aligned with students’ interests and contextualized to satisfy employment demands within the vicinity.
