In response, DepEd promptly mobilized its mental health crisis response mechanisms. Members of the Executive Committee (ExeCom) personally visited the school to closely monitor the situation and ensure that immediate support was readily provided to the school community. DepEd has likewise coordinated with the concerned field office to gather additional information and determine the appropriate assistance that can be extended by it.
The Office of Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, together with local authorities, has also extended the necessary assistance and support to those affected.
DepEd recognizes that this incident is a sensitive issue and underscores the importance of providing timely interventions for learners and teachers who may be experiencing mental health challenges. While DepEd will not provide specific details of the incident as respect to the grieving family of the learner, rest assured that the Department remains committed to strengthening and implementing mental health programs to ensure that our schools remain safe and supportive environments for our learners.
In this regard, DepEd also urges the public to respect the privacy of the individuals involved and the school community during this difficult time.
