ASEC. DEXTER A. GALBAN

Asec. Dexter A. Galban, RN, RBP, MD, MBA, MPM, is a public servant, health professional, social impact entrepreneur, corporate trainer, and NGO adviser. He holds a double degree in Doctor of Medicine & Master in Business Administration (MD-MBA) and a Master in Public Management (MPM) from Ateneo de Manila University. A registered nurse from the University of the Philippines-Manila, he also completed Leadership & Management in Health training at the University of Washington.

Asec. Galban’s numerous accolades include being an Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader, Career Executive Service Written Exam 2nd placer, and a finalist for The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM). He is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and a World Health Organization School Health Services TWG member. His previous roles include International Digital Solutions Expert at the Asian Development Bank, Global Panel Member of Restless Development, and founder & CEO of Alaga Health. Additionally, he served as a medical editor for Hello Health Group’s Hello Doctor and contributed to The Lancet & The Financial Times’ Governing Health Futures 2030 initiative.

His work with NGOs, CSOs, and development agencies has focused on public health, good governance, youth empowerment, and sustainable development. He collaborated with organizations like the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth, UN Population Fund, Health Care Without Harm, and Junior Achievement.

In 2019, Asec. Galban became the youngest Commissioner of the Commission on Population & Development under the National Economic & Development Authority. In 2022, he was appointed Assistant Secretary at the Department of Education, where he focuses on learner support programs, including school health & nutrition, school sports, learner formation & leadership development, and the promotion & protection of learner rights.
