ASEC. GEORGINA ANN H. YANG
Asec. Georgina Ann H. Yang serves as the Assistant Secretary for External Partnerships and International Cooperation at the Department of Education.
Before this role, she was the Executive Director of Galing Pook Foundation, a nonprofit promoting innovation and excellence in local governance in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Previously, she was Director IV and National Program Manager for the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD – SLP), where she led the program’s expansion, strengthened cross-sector partnerships, and promoted human capital development through vocational skills training. She also headed Anti-Poverty Programs for the Office of the 14th Vice President of the Philippines, initiating public-private partnerships focused on poverty alleviation.
Her experience includes work in academia as a Research Manager for Data and Evidence-Based Governance at the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as a faculty member of Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Development Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Asec. Yang graduated cum laude with an AB in Interdisciplinary Studies and an MS in Social Development from Ateneo de Manila University. She later earned a Mid-Career Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, awarded a full scholarship through the George W. Mallinckrodt Fellowship for her commitment to transparency and good governance. She completed the program with the Lucius N. Littauer Award for academic excellence and significant community impact.
