Jake’s international development practice spans government affairs, policy reforms, social impact at scale, and multilateral project management. His previous roles include Government Relations Director, Chief of Staff of the Asia Pacific Region, and Senior Policy Officer.

He joined Philippine civil service when then Senator Sonny Angara was appointed the Secretary of the Department of Education. Under Secretary Angara’s leadership, Jake leads the Public Affairs Service and its core functions: national communications, public information, and multimedia production.

He has received distinctions for his policy and literary work, including the ADB-Japan Scholarship, the Carlos Palanca Award, and the National Writing Fellowship in Dumaguete.

He is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas Junior High School (top 5%), the University of the Philippines Diliman (BA Broadcast Communication, cum laude), and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo (Master of Public Policy).
