DIR. LEAH B. APAO

Dr. Leah Bueno Apao is a dedicated education leader and Director III of the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP). She serves as the National Focal for Training on the MATATAG Curriculum for Teachers and School Leaders, playing a key role in strengthening professional development in education.
She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Management (2014) and a Master of Arts in Education (2000) from Cebu Normal University, along with a Bachelor in Elementary Education (Major in Mathematics) (1989). Her credentials include Career Executive Service Eligibility (CESO VI) and certifications in Educational Management and Professional Teaching.
With extensive experience in education, Dr. Apao has held leadership roles as a Teacher, School Principal, Education Program Supervisor, and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent in various schools divisions in Cebu. She has been recognized for her contributions, receiving awards such as the GARBO sa CNU 2022 Leadership Award and Pasidungog 2022 Outstanding Assistant Schools Division Superintendent.
Dr. Apao has significantly influenced education policies as a NEAP Trainer, Technical Working Group Member for the Philippine Professional Standards for Supervisors (PPSS), and Review Team Member for the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSH). She has also initiated key projects, including CALLIP, Bahandi sa SUGBO, and Project EduKATIWALA, aimed at improving education leadership and governance.
Beyond her professional work, she is the Co-Founder of Go and Tell Bible Christian Church, President of the Association of Assistant Schools Division Superintendents in DepEd Region VII, and an active member of various educational organizations.
Through her leadership, expertise, and commitment to education, Dr. Apao continues to inspire and shape the future of Philippine education.
