RD ESTELA P. CARIÑo

Dr. Estela P. Leon-Cariño is a highly accomplished educator and leader in the Department of Education (DepEd). She completed her elementary education at Datakan Elementary School, Kapangan, Benguet in five years having been qualified in the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) acceleration program. She finished her secondary education at St. Theresita’s High School, Kapangan, Benguet and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Louis University in 1982. She pursued further studies at Baguio Central University, where she obtained a Master of Education in 1997 and a Doctor of Education in 2013.
Her career in public education began as a Secondary School Teacher I at Tuba National High School in 1985, and she steadily advanced through various teaching and administrative positions, including Head Teacher, Master Teacher, Principal, Education Supervisor, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS), Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), and Assistant Regional Director (ARD).
Dr. Estela P. Leon-Cariño has an extensive career in education, demonstrating her commitment and expertise in various roles. She has been serving as the Regional Director IV for DepEd-CAR since November 2020, having previously held the same position in DepEd Region II.
Throughout her career, Dr. Estela P. Leon-Cariño has demonstrated her dedication to improving educational standards and providing strategic direction to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of educational services. Her leadership and experience have significantly contributed to the development and implementation of educational policies and programs in the areas where she served.
