Suspension of Regular Working Hours in Government Offices When Typhoon Signal No. 3 is Raised

  1. Quoted below is Memorandum Circular No. 78 of the Office of the President dated October 10, 1988, entitled “Providing for the Automatic Suspension of Regular Hours in Government Offices When Signal No. 3 is Raised”.
    “Whenever typhoon signal No. 3 is raised by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the regular working hours in government offices located in the areas covered by the signal shall be automatically suspended. The heads of these offices shall, however, maintain a skeletal force that can immediately respond to calls on matters pertaining to the functions of their respective offices.”
    “This Memorandum Circular shall not apply to government agencies and personnel involved in or performing functions related to peace and order, police, security, health, relief, fire, transportation and communication, food, public information and disaster operations.”
