August 22, 1991
DO 102, s. 1991
Changing the Name of the Technical Panel for Engineering Education (TPEE) to Technical Panel for Engineering and Architecture Education (TPEAE)
To:   Bureau Directors
Regional Directors
Presidents, State Colleges and Universities
Heads of Private Schools, Colleges and Universities
1.   The Technical Panel for Engineering Education (TPEE), an advisory, consultative, and recommendatory body to the DECS on matters pertaining to the engineering education, sinces ts creation on August 3, 1977 through Department Order No. 35, s. 1977, has been involved in technical education on the tertiary level.
2.   Starting 1989, as per DECS Order No. 19, s. 1988, the TPEE has included the Architecture program under its jurisdiction, among others. During the same year, the TPEE convened a committee to review and formulate policies and standards for Architecture education.
3.   In view of the fact that Architecture is considered an entirely different field of study, apart from any Engineering program, but due to the absence of an appropriate body to handle the responsibility of taking care of Architecture education, the integration of the program into the TPEE has been effected. Furthermore, the name TPEE signifies a panel solely for engineering education.
4.   One of the resolutions formulate by the committee was to amend the name off the TPEE, to include the term “Architecture”. The TPEE on its part has recognized the merits of the proposal and has endorsed the resolution.
5.   In view of the above, the name Technical Panel for Engineering Education (TPEE) is amended to read “Technical Panel for Engineering and Architecture Education” (TPEAPE).
6.   Immediate dissemination of this Order is requested.
