Utilization of SPED Publications

1.   The utilization of two publications in Special Education, namely: (1) Regulations and Standards for Special Schools in the Philippines: A Manual and (2) Basic Sign Vocabulary for Filipino Children has been scheduled for dissemination and discussion during the Orientation Conferences in Special Education starting from September 1991 to September 1992.
2.   The regulations on the organization and management of SPED schools and centers were developed in a series of consultative conferences involving school administrators, supervisors, teachers and concerned parents of gifted and handicapped individuals, experienced professionals and community leaders.
3.   The Basic Sign Vocabulary for Filipino Children was likewise prepared by trained teachers, administrators and professional interpreters involved in the education and other programs of hearing-impaired children.
4.   Compliance with the policies and principles in these publications, aimed towards quality and relevance in the education of children with special, needs, is hereby requested.
5.   This Order supersedes all existing regulations and standards relative to special education.
6.   Immediate dissemination of the contents of this Order desired.
