Development of the Values of Respect for Elders and of Cleanliness

1.   To enhance the development of the long-cherished Filipino social value of respect for elders, schools should teach all their students to show their respect by kissing the hands (Mano) of their elders: parents, teachers, and other during Angelus and other appropriate occasions.
2.   Teachers should develop this trait among their students by seeing to it that before the start and end of the day’s class sessions, students should kiss the hands of their respective teachers as a gesture of greeting and parting respectively.
3.   Students/pupils should also be taught to practice cleanliness in their person and in their surroundings. They must be trained to pick up pieces of paper and other litters in the school premises. Groups of students should be assigned by rotation to handle the cleanliness in their classrooms such as the cleaning of blackboards and trash cans and in their immediate premises.
4.   Immediate dissemination of this Order to all schools is desired.
