Operationalization of the PCs for Public Schools Project

1.  In line with the goals and objectives of educational development, the PCs for Public Schools Project shall be operationalized starting SY 2002 – 2003.
2.  To ensure the proper implementation of the PCs for Public Schools Project, the following guidelines shall serve as parameters in the operationalization of the Project.
2.1  The computer package provided under the Project shall be used solely for instructional purposes.
2.2  Transfer and accountability of the computer package from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to the respective schools and Division Offices shall be effected.
2.3  The necessary funds for the maintenance and other operating needs and budgetary costs for the establishment and operation of the computer laboratory shall be ensured by the recipient-schools in coordination with the Local Government Units (LGUs), Parent-Teacher-Community Associations (PTCAs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and/or the Private Sector.
2.4  The school-based training on the Intel Teach to the Future Program shall be conducted by the teacher-participants to the Regional Training Program to at least twenty (20) of their colleagues.
2.5  A one-year course on Computer Education as a specialization in Entrepreneurshipunder the Technology and Home Economics (THE) program shall be piloted in the fourth year level in SY 2002-2003.
3.  The Regional Offices through its Division Offices shall coordinate, supervise and monitor the implementation of the Project. All reports relative to the implementation of the aforecited project shall be submitted to the Office of the Undersecretary for Programs and Projects, Rizal Bldg., DepEd Complex, Pasig City.
4.  Immediate dissemination of the Order is desired.
