Amendments and Addendum to DepEd Order No. 76, s. 2008 (DepED Uniform for Teachers and Non-Teaching Personnel for SYs 2009-2010 and 2010-2011)

  1. In consideration of the procurement timelines prescribed in Republic Act No. 9184 for competitive bidding viz a viz the target implementation date of wearing the DepED uniform on the first day of school year 2009-2010, and in consultation with organizations/associations of DepED officials, teachers and non-teaching personnel, the following amendments and addendum to DepED Order No. 76, s. 2008 entitled, DepED Uniform for Teachers and Non-Teaching Personnel for SYs 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, are hereby issued:
    1. A sub-section under Section 2 is hereby added as Section 2(e):
      e. A Regional/Division/School Uniform Committee shall be created in each regional/division office and public elementary and secondary school to be composed of the head of office/school as chairperson, and representatives of the different associations/ organizations of DepED officials, teachers, and non-teaching personnel in the region/division, and in the case of the school, the faculty club, as members.
    2. Section 5 is hereby amended to read as follows:
      The full clothing and uniform allowance in the amount of Four Thousand Pesos (PhP4,000.00) shall be released in cash to the individual DepED official and employee.
    3. Correspondingly, Section 7 is also amended, to wit:
      The mode of procuring the uniform materials shall be decided by the regional/division/school uniform committee. The principles of integrity and transparency shall be upheld and strictly observed. It is encouraged that the procurement of uniform materials be made from or through the teachers’ cooperatives and/or associations. The DepED teacher and employee shall be given the option to make his/her own arrangements with regards to the sewing/tailoring services.
    4. The following section is hereby added as Section 9:
      This Office wish to emphasize that it has not endorsed nor authorized any particular supplier to approach the regional and division offices and declare himself/herself as the exclusive distributor of the textile materials for the DepED uniforms.
  2. All other sections of DepED Order No. 76, s. 2008 that are not affected by these amendments shall remain enforced.
  3. For the information, guidance and compliance of all concerned.
