- The Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Program consisting of the Education Service Contracting (ESC) and the Education Voucher System (EVS) and the Teacher Salary Subsidy (TSS), is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to maintain the viability of private education as a key partner in the delivery of quality basic education.
- In support to this commitment, the Department of Education (DepEd) has issued the enabling policies and guidelines to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the GASTPE Program effective School Year (SY) 2012-2013. The policies and guidelines are contained in the enclosure and have already reflected the anticipated implementation of Grade VII as part of the K to 12 Basic Education Program and the expansion of the Open High School (OHS) in ESC-participating private schools. The guidelines shall remain in effect starting SY 2012-2013 until otherwise amended.
- Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is directed.
