DepEd-CLFI Launch ALS-CLC of WCES

City of San Fernando, La Union – The Department of Education (DepEd) Region I and Cebuana Lhulier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI) formally launched the Alternative Learning School (ALS) Computer Learning Center (CLC) of West Central Elementary School in Dagupan City on December 9, 2015.

The DepEd – Cebuana Lhuillier ALS-CLC, is a partnership that aims to provide Academic, Livelihood and Spiritual and Social education to former OSYs and adults in the elementary and secondary levels. The partnership was sealed through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in 2013.

In his Opening Remarks, Atty. Cesar Vidal, Executive Director of CLFI said that the company is very grateful for having the opportunity to share the blessings to the learners. Atty. Vidal also addressed the students to be more focused on their lessons for them to step forward in making their lives better.

Dr. Alma Ruby C. Torio, OIC Regional Director of DepEd Region I also expressed gratitude to the CLFI for being an active partner in making DepEd’s dream into reality. RD Torio also thanked the community-based groups for working hand in hand with Cebuana to be able to establish CLC nationwide. She also encouraged the students to value the importance of education.

Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez also initiated the blessing of the center and unveiling of the signage. Mayor Fernandez also pledged their continuous support in this endeavor.

Aside from learning center, CLFI also turned over additional teaching equipment to West Central ES-CLC for the ALS students and teachers perusal.

Said partnership is also part of the company’s goal to strengthen the advocacy of PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies’ (PJLGC) President & CEO Dr. Jean Henri D. Lhuillier of “Always Love Schooling.” This is along with CLFI’s Nationwide Scholarship Program and Spiritual and Social Enhancement Program and Special Projects on Education.
