DepEd Inks Partnership on DENR’s K2F Program

City of San Fernando, La Union – The Department of Education (DepEd) Region I along with partner agencies formally confirmed its commitment in the adoption and implementation of the Kids-to-Forest (K2F) Program in Region 1. This is through the Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA) ceremonial signing at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on May 5, 2016.

The MOPA signing was spearheaded by La Union Governor Manuel C. Ortega. The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) shall provide administrative and logistics support to the K2F initiatives in the province. DepEd Region 1 was represented by Chief of Education Support Services Division (ESSD), Engr. Jesus R. Lopez.

Being one of the partner agencies of this program, the Department of Education (DepEd) Region 1, along with the Schools Division Office of the City of San Fernando and Schools Division of La Union shall facilitate the selection and ensure participation of schools and children to the K2F activities.

The K2F Project is a children and youth awareness program that promotes the value of forests using practical interactive and immersed teaching-and-learning method that has been found out to be a good alternative to classroom learning and educational tours.
