Thursday, May 19, 2016

The Department of Education will conduct Brigada Eskwela 2016 from May 30 to June 4, 2016 with the theme “Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa mula sa Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School”.
It is widely known that before formal classes start, the National Schools Maintenance more commonly known as Brigada Eskwela is primarily conducted in the public schools nationwide. This activity will bring together teachers, students, parents and community members to help each other in repairing and preparing schools for school opening on June 13, 2016.

This year, Biliran National Agricultural High School (BNAHS) has been chosen to be the front-liner of the said event in the region. The week-long activity will commence at 7:00 AM on May 30 with an Opening Program prepared by the host school. This activity will be graced by the Regional Director herself together with 29 other employees from the DepEd RO VIII. Furthermore, this Brigada Eskwela in BNAHS will be actively monitored by Mr. Russel Resco and Mr. James Paa to ensure that the event is at par with its goals and objectives.

Brigada Eskwela focuses on the improvement of the surroundings of the school and making it safer for the learners. As this event takes place in all public schools all over the country on the said dates, the Department shall prioritize schools who are offering the Senior High School Program this coming June.

Prior to this activity, several coordination meetings have already been conducted and everyone is expecting to have a successful and meaningful event for the benefit of the hopes of our future – the students!
“As the Department endeavors to solve the many challenges facing Philippine education, Brigada Eskwela will serve as one of its frontline initiatives reminding each and every Filipino that we are all stakeholders in education.”
