Wheels roll for BRIGADA ESKWELA ’16 at DepEd-NCR

DepEd- NCR takes the long stretch of Macapagal Hi-Way on its May 30, 2016 kick off of Brigada Eskwela. The motorcade is a long queue of internal and external stakeholders parading to signify their support to education.

It commences at Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay led by SMART  with DepEd Central Office delegates, followed by the DepEd-NCR officials, the Fire Department, then the 16 school’s division representatives and other government and non-government organizations, with the final stop at the Parañaque National High School where a short program awaits. Such a festive mood prevailed over the spirit pf unity as “Bayanihan” ruled in the activity with the theme, “ Tayo para sa paaralang ligtas, maayos at handa mula Kindergarten hanggang Senior High School.” Dr. Magdalena M. Lim, Schools Division Superintendent of Parañaque, welcomed and expressed her appreciation to all who came to extend sup
port; the Philippine National Police, Army, Navy, Marines, the LGU officials headed by Hon. Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez, with Congressmen Eric L. Olivarez and  Gustavo S. Tambunting, guests from the  Japanese Embassy as well as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.     From the Department of Education, Hon. Tonisito MC Umali delivered an inspirational talk on behalf of Secretary Armin Luistro who joined another region with the same activity. Umali emphasized the importance of a unified action, that as a TEAM, Together Everyone Achieves More. That it is the duty of every Filipino to care not only for oneself but for the future of the whole country, as well.    On a final note, he said education is the only solution to poverty; hence, “Tayo para sa Edukasyon”
