DepEd RO3 solidifies TEI partnership with RTEIAC

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

The Department of Education Region III and the 88 Teacher Education Institutions in the region sealed the partnership and teamwork by forming an alliance through the Regional Teacher Education Institutions (TEI) Advisory Council which aims to be one of the mechanisms implemented by RD Malcolm S. Garma to respond to the need of providing quality educational service to education stakeholders in Region III.

The advisory council aims to strengthen the alliance of both institutions that will help bring light to crucial developmental issues and concerns relevant to pre-service teachers training so that TEIs can guarantee the production of quality teachers who are equipped with 21st century skills and positive characteristics which correspond to the requirements of the knowledge and technology-driven society.
This activity is a follow-up corollary to the success of the first conference conducted by the DepEd Regional Office last February 9, 2016 which aimed at establishing and strengthening collaboration with the Teacher Education Institutions in Region III.

Furthermore, the said advisory council can provide non-binding but informed guidance to all members and serve as a tremendous ally in the quest for superior education governance. With their scholarly assistance, the council may also serve as an instrument of change by bridging the gaps and providing solutions to ensure greater efficiency and effectiveness in the provision of quality educational delivery in the school level as mandated under RA 9155 or the Basic Education Governance Act of 2001.

The series of meetings was spearheaded by the Field Technical Assistance (FTAD) under the leadership of its Chief, Dr. Edwin T. Marcos.•
