PAGADIAN CITY, February 9, 2017 – Department of Education (DepEd) Assistant Secretary Tonisito Umali recently recognized the role of campus journalists as catalysts for change.

During the recently concluded National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) 2017 in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, Umali highlighted the power of “pen” in igniting and bringing various reforms in the society.

Umali further emphasized the importance of journalists as he mentioned the change brought by the literary works of Dr. Jose Rizal, Marcelo H. del Pilar, and other noble Filipino heroes in the country.
