PASIG CITY, April 30, 2019 – The Department of Education (DepEd) recently conducted a ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with its partners to symbolize their commitment to support DepEd in addressing critical educational needs.

Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones shared her firm belief that “in order for us to achieve our goals, there should be a clear synergy with our friends from the private sector.”

These partners include GAKKEN (Philippines) Inc.; Affiliated Network for Social Accountability; Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc.; First Natgas Power Corporation; First Gen Hydro Power Corporation; FGen. LNG Corporation; FGP Corporation; Prime Meridian Powergen Corporation; Kosmos Technomobile, Inc.; Mariwasa Siam Ceramics Inc. and SCG Marketing Philippines Inc.; National Grid Corporation of the Philippines; and Philam Foundation, Inc.

Their pledges/donations range from the provision of equipment and materials for classrooms and facilities to the development of learning materials, conduct of training/capacity building for teachers, and services for learners such as feeding programs and test reviews, among many others.

“I believe that the best education that one can get would be from a combination of both public sector education, as well as private sector education. We recognize the need for the private sector to participate, not only in terms of delivering educational services, but also in terms of contributing in whatever we need so we complement each other,” Briones stated.
