September 1, 2020 – Contextualizing the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) into a local setting, DepEd CALABARZON expressed their preparedness for the implementation of hybrid learning for School Year 2020-2021.
In a Handang Isip, Handa Bukas press briefing on Monday, Regional Director Wilfredo Cabral reported that the status of their learning resources readiness is in the advanced stage as the region is all set to accommodate its three million enrolled learners.
DepEd CALABARZON’s LCP implementation is anchored to the PIVOT 4ALCP with eight key points, including resource mobilization and assessment.
The regional contextualized LCP also features advanced curriculum guides and training for teachers as well as a contingency plan on health standards as a response to the pandemic.
From the 3 million learners, RD Cabral cited Imus National High School as an example of how the region is preparing for the upcoming school year from the learning delivery modality decision stage to the distance learning dry run.
With the majority of its learners going for online and modular distance learning, Imus NHS sought an intensive process to determine the modality of best fit for learners.
Support and engagement of stakeholders also assisted the school in its preparation such as “BIDA I-KonEk Mo” in cooperation with Converge IT Solutions provided fiber optic connection for school’s virtual education studios and free connection for learners. Further, the “Eskwela Kooperatiba” is bound to assist learners who are having difficulty in acquiring gadgets for online learning.
Regional Director Cabral noted.
During the press briefing, Undersecretary for Field Operations Revsee Escobedo emphasized that distance learning simulations are still being conducted in different schools and divisions nationwide with the active support of barangay and LGU officials.
