PASIG CITY, April 10, 2024— Vice President and Secretary of the Department of Education Sara Z. Duterte urged learners to harness an invaluable entrepreneurial mindset to enrich their opportunities during the Youthpreneur (Mentoring the Future Entrepreneurs) in partnership with Go Negosyo on Monday, April 8 at Rizal High School (RHS).

“This Youthpreneur initiative definitely helps transform the lives of our youth by bringing the lessons and experiences of successful business owners to them. They were given practical business advice and skills. In this way, Youthpreneur enhances financial literacy levels and educates you about viable business ideas, money opportunity, and market linkages,” VP-Sec. Duterte said.

“I want to thank Go Negosyo, led by Mr. Joey Concepcion and our mentors here this morning, for partnering with the Department of Education. This will help Filipino learners develop an entrepreneurial mindset and create opportunities to succeed particularly in their prospective businesses, ultimately aiming to alleviate poverty through inclusive initiatives,” she added.

Additionally, the Secretary also urged the learner-attendees to listen and engage with the invited business experts to understand how to run a business and hone their skills for it.

“Teaching entrepreneurship and mentoring young kids has potential benefits to both individuals and society. It can also provide them with an alternative career in this rapidly changing world and uncertainties of the future,” VP-Sec. Duterte shared.

VP-Sec Duterte hoped that through the Youthpreneur, their lives will change. She urged the learners to listen to the speakers, ask relevant questions, and follow expert advice to succeed in their business.

The highlight of the Youthpreneur is the panel discussion where learners can ask, interact, and share their ideas with mentors from different fields invited by Go Negosyo.

Attending the event were RHS Senior High School learners and officials, Go Negosyo partners and resource persons, and DepEd Central and Regional officials.
