I would like to express my warmest greetings to the Philippine Association for Language Teaching, Inc. (PALT) for hosting its 60th PALT Anniversary and 2021 Pan-Asian Consortium of Language Teaching Societies (PAC) International Conference on Language Education.

With the Philippines being a country of many dialects and recognized globally as one of the largest English-speaking nations, the Department of Education (DepEd) strives to make our learners proficient multilingual, and multiliterate in their mother tongue, Filipino, and English language.

The Department acknowledges your remarkable achievements in language teaching, research, and extension services for the past 60 years. Established as the oldest language professional association in the country, PALT has helped our teachers acquire research-based methods and strategies, as well as demonstrative teaching skills that are vital in the language teaching of both English and Filipino.

This year, with the conference theme “Language Education for All (Asians Learning Languages), we hope you could impart valuable lessons and experiences to our teachers on maintaining teacher quality by reflecting on the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) that will further their professional development.

Thank you for continually empowering our teachers to provide more relevant learning experiences for every Filipino learner!

Sama sama tayo sa pagsulong ng EduKalidad!
