Utilization of Other School Fees

Schools Superintendents
Heads of Private Schools, Colleges and Universities

  1. This Office has received reports that some schools are utilizing the collections accrued from “other school fees” (library fee, medical and dental fee, athletic fee, guidance and counselling fee, development fee and the like) for purposes other than those for which they are intended. Under no circumstance should these fees be used for other school expenses.
  2. Schools are required to keep all the receipts and records of expenditures pertinent to the “other school fees” collected, for inspection and verification purposes by parties concerned.
  3. Attention is hereby invited to Section 6 of DECS Order No. 50, s. 1990 and Section 4 of DECS Order No. 70, s. 1990.
  4. Immediate dissemination of this Order to all concerned is desired.
