Coaching and Mentoring Program for NQESH Category B
The Coaching and Mentoring Program for National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) Category B is specially designed for NQESH 2021 Category B participants. The focus of the training is on upskilling and reskilling aspiring school heads in preparation for their retaking of the NQESH. The primary delivery method of the program is coaching and mentoring with experienced school leaders.
This program consists of five (5) modules covering all five domains of the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH). The focus of the coaching and mentoring, however, will be based on the result of the most recent NQESH’s least mastered competencies.
The proposed program aims to
- prepare Category B participants to take on the roles and functions of a full-fledged school administrator and instructional supervisor, and
- establish a coaching and mentoring program for the required school head competencies to be nurtured and developed.
Validation of NQESH Category B
𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐐𝐄𝐒𝐇 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐁 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬
45 experts from the Regional and Schools Division Offices validated the modules for the Coaching and Mentoring Program for NQESH Category B last October 9 – 13, 2023 at Baguio Teachers Camp, Baguio City.
The activity aims to validate the developed materials and implementation guidelines that will be used for the Coaching and Mentoring of 2, 096 NQESH Category B Participants. The materials and policy shall serve as the primary references for the preparation of the NQESH Category B participants in retaking the NQESH and eventually becoming full-fledged school heads.
The activity aims to do the following:
- Ensure that the training resource package is in compliance with the program design and NEAP’s quality standards.
- Consolidate feedback for the refinement of the training resource package
The participants came from various and differing backgrounds to ensure that all the participants will have a meaningful contribution to the activity. Most of them are school leaders, but accountants and legal officers were also included to check modules that focus on budget and accounting and legal aspects. There were also selected writers who formed part of the development of the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH), which served as the basis of the training resource package, and the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads, for alignment of the content and competencies covered, structure and organization, and language use.
The Coaching and Mentoring Program for NQESH Category B is a project NEAP co-developed with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and is intended to be implemented in the first quarter of 2024.
