The Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) Program SY 1992-1993

Principals of Private Secondary Schools

  1. The guidelines and mechanics on the implementation of the PESFA program for SY 1992-1993 shall be the same as those stipulated under DECS Order No. 73, s. 1990 and DECS Order No. 35, s. 1991 except on the following:
    1. All PESFA grantees whether in the degree or non-degree priority courses shall be given full grant with financial assistance as follows:
      • Tuition and other school fees not to exceed P5,000.00 a year;
      • Allowance of P3,000.00 a year; and
      • Book allowance of P500.00 a year
    2. The annual income of applicant, if any/parents/guardian shall be the same as in the previous school year which was P36,000.00 and below.
  2. The slot allocation for each region is attached as Inclosure No. 1. The regional office shall be responsible in allocating slots for each school division.
  3. Non-degree technical vocational courses shall be given the priority over the degree courses effective this SY 1992-1993. The allocation shall be 60% for non-degree/technical vocational courses and 40% for degree courses.
  4. Each grantee shall enroll in any of the baccalaureate courses or disciplines, non-degree vocational technical courses which are required for manpower development that have been identified as priority programs by SAC upon recommendation of the Sub Committee on Programs and Projects. (Inclosure No. 2).
  5. The schedule of PESFA activities for SY 1992-1993 is presented in Inclosure No. 3.
  6. In case of any violation of the provisions of the PESFA guidelines, the DECS, upon recommendation of the SAC, may bar the institutions from participating in our benefitting from the PESFA as may be filed against the school and/or its responsible officer under existing laws.
  7. All rules and regulations or part thereof which are inconsistent with this Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
  8. Immediate and wide dissemination of this Order is enjoined.
