Revised System of Rating and Reporting of Student Performance for Secondary Schools

Private Secondary School Principals

1.   In cognizance of the need to measure the total development of the student in terms of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes, the existing system of rating and reporting student’s progress is hereby revised.
2.  The revised system of rating will subject the students to all kinds of activities that will measure all the domains of an individual’s development, cognitive, psychomotor and affective.
3.  The revised guidelines contained in the inclosure shall be implemented starting SY 1999-2000. Private schools which do not have their own explicit grading policies may adopt this system of rating. The inclosure is meant to guide teachers in evaluating students fairly.
4.   All prior DECS issuances which are inconsistent with this Order are hereby amended and/or rescinded.
5.   Immediate and prompt dissemination of this Order to all concerned is desired.
