Guidelines in the Utilization of the Allocation for the Regional Science High Schools for CY 2001

1. For CY 2001, all Regional Science High Schools (RSHSs) will be given financial aid in the amount of Two Million Pesos (P 2,000,000.00) each for specific purposes under budget line
for Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) .

2. The utilization of the said amount shall follow these specific guidelines:
50% (P 1,000,000.00) – Procurement of supplies and materials for Science and Mathematics only. This may also include cabinets for storage of equipment and for corrosive/non-corrosive reagents;
5% (P50,000.00) – For internet installation and one year subscription;
10 % (P 200*000.00) – Procurement of instructional materials including textbooks for each subject area, reference books, professional books, magazines, and CDs in Science and Mathematics;
10 % (P 200,000.00) – For electric and water bills, maintenance and repair of previously owned science equipment, and computers/printers;
17.5% (P350,000.00) – Defray expenses for training/professional upgrading of all teachers/principals/OICs directly managing the RSHS, including attendance in seminars that may be sponsored by DECS or other agencies; and
10 % (P 200,000.00) – Subsidy for student researches/projects.
