Reiterating the Policy on Uniforms and Clothing Allowance for Public School Teachers

  1. In connection with the payment of the clothing allowance for FY 2004, please be reminded that DepEd Order No. 24 s. 2003 entitled “Policy on Uniforms and Clothing Allowance for Public School Teachers” is still in force, The important provisions under said Order are quoted as follows:
    “Commencing School Year 2003-2004, uniforms for public school teachers shall be prescribed by the principal or school head after consultation with the teachers. Decisions regarding the teachers’ uniform shall be school-based in line with the Principal Empowerment Policy and shall be guided by the provisions stated in DepEd Order No. 1, s. 2002;”
    “Clothing Allowance for CY 2003 shall be in cash and shall be released directly to all DepEd personnel. Withholding the payments of the clothing allowance by any official is strictly prohibited.”
  2. Any violation of DepEd Order No. 24, s. 2003 shall be dealt with administratively.
  3. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is directed.
