Guidelines in the Utilization of the Five Hundred Thousand (PH500,000.00) Allocation to the Pilot Schools of the Special Programs in the Arts and in Sports (SPA and SPS) and Schools Offering Special Education (SPED)

  1. In line with the Department of Education’s effort to improve the quality of teaching and student performance of the talented/special students under the Special Programs (Arts, Sports, and Special Education), a Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP500,000.00) subsidy is allotted to the seventeen (17) pilot schools of the SPA and SPS, and the one hundred three (103) SPED schools (please see enclosed lists).
  2. The amount shall be specifically used for the following:
    25% (PhP 125,000.00) Trainings of teachers and administrators
    35% (Php 175,000.00) Procurement of sports equipment/musical instruments/assistive devices
    20% (PhP 100,000.00) Procurement of instructional materials and supplies (i.e. costumes, athletic uniforms, etc.)
    20% (PhP 100,000.00) Student development activities such as trainings, workshops, educational tours, including travel allowance of students during training.
  3. The amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP500,000.00) shall be provided to the recipient schools in addition to their regular Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).
  4. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is directed.
