Utilizing a Different Set of Criteria/Guidelines for the Regional Science High Schools (RSHSs) in the Allocation of School Resources

  1. The Regional Science High Schools (RSHSs) offer a special curriculum focused on science and mathematics to help hasten the advancement of the country’s science and technology program. They have enriched curriculum and have more subjects compared with the regular high schools.
  2. In order to strengthen the operation and maintenance of all RSHSs and to make them more efficient and effective in their primary task of promoting and improving science education, starting SY 2009-2010, a class size of 35 and a Teacher Student Ratio (TSR) of 5:3 will be utilized in the allocation of DepED resources, specifically in the deployment of teachers.
  3. Separate criteria in the allocation of school buildings and other resources will be issued shortly.
  4. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is directed.
