Guidelines in the Utilization of the Five Hundred Thousand (PhP500,000.00) Allocation to the Secondary Schools Offering Any of the Following Special Programs: Arts (SPA), Sports (SPS), Special Education (SPED)

  1. To assist the secondary schools implementing the Special Programs (Arts, Sports and Special Education) in the effective delivery of service to the talented/special students, the Department of Education (DepEd) shall provide a Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP500,000.00) subsidy to the seventeen (17) schools of the SPA and SPS, and the one hundred three (103) SPED schools (please see enclosed lists).
  2. The amount shall be specifically used for the following:
    25% (PhP125,000.00) Training of teachers and administrators in the school’s area of specialization: arts, sports, SPED
    35% (PhP175,000.00) Procurement of sports equipment/musical instruments/assistive devices
    20% (PhP100,000.00) Procurement of instructional materials and supplies (i.e. costumes, athletic uniforms, etc.)
    20% (PhP100,000.00) Student development activities such as training, workshop, participation in DepEd- approved competitions in arts/sports including travel allowance of students during training / competition.
  3. The amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP500,000.00) shall be provided to the recipient schools in addition to their regular Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).
  4. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is directed.
