Requiring All Regional/Division Offices to Upgrade their Internet Subscription to Business/Corporate Package for the Implementation of the Asset Management System (AMS)
  1. In view of the implementation of the Asset Management System (AMS), all regional/ division offices are required to upgrade their existing internet subscription to Business/Corporate Package using the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) funds. Regional/Division offices shall directly subscribe to their local Internet Service Providers (ISP) in accordance with Republic Act No. 9184.
  2. For offices with Local Area Network (LAN) and centralized internet access, the required download speed is up to 5.0 Mbps, while the Committed Information Rate (CIR), the required guaranteed bandwidth, is 1.0 Mbps. The type of connection is wired or fixed wireless antenna.
  3. For the offices without LAN and decentralized internet access, the required download speed is up to 3.5 Mbps while the Committed Information Rate (CIR), the required guaranteed bandwidth, is 128 kbps. The type of connection is also wired or fixed antenna.
  4. For those offices which would like to use a satellite internet connection, the required guaranteed bandwidth, is 256 kbps upstream and 256 kbps downstream burst to 384 kbps.
  5. This Broadband Internet Access will be used to create a virtual connection between the Central Office and different field offices of the Department. Through this virtual connection, the different field offices can access the AMS server located at the DepEd Data Center.
  6. All concerned should make sure that all the different field offices meet the required minimum specifications in order to successfully implement the AMS in their respective offices.
  7. All Regional Directors through their Regional ICT Coordinators are required to monitor the compliance of their respective Division Offices and to submit the scanned Internet Service Agreement through e-mail address: dicp@deped.gov.ph on or before October 30, 2010 to Dir. Mari Paul C. Soriano, Office of the Director, Technical Service, DepEd Central Office.
  8. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is directed.
