DepEd Strengthens Partnership with non-DepED Schools for Senior High School

Clarkfield, Pampanga—With the aim to forge cooperation and commitment from non-DepED schools to take part in the full implementation of the Senior High School (SHS) in 2016, a Regional Conference on Senior High School Implementation for non-DepED schools will be conducted on March 19 at the Stotsenberg Convention Center.

The participants, which included the heads of private schools, higher education institutions, technical-vocational institutions, and members of the SHS Technical Working Group created by the Regional Development Council, will be oriented on pertinent issues and concerns such as the guidelines on the preparation for the national implementation of the SHS Program in non-DepED schools for school year 2016-2017, methodology in identifying SHS Implementers, SHS Voucher System, and modes of partnerships and linkages that can be established with various stakeholders.

Mr. Rizalino Jose T. Rosales, DepED OIC-Regional Director will also present the Regional SHS Implementation Plan to cite the preparations undertaken by DepED and to address the various queries and concerns of non-DepED schools with regard to the implementation of the Senior High School program next year.

The Regional Development Council (RDC) has formed a technical working group (TWG) that is meant to address gaps and prepare Central Luzon for the implementation of Senior High School by school year 2016-2017. The TWG shall be chaired by DepEd with the provincial government of Pampanga as co-convenor and all governors, mayors of highly urbanized cities, President of the League of Municipalities in Central Luzon, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Labor and Employment, Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and NEDA as members.
