DepEd ICT Programs Gears Up to the Next Level

City of San Fernando, La Union – To effectively implement Information and Communications Technology (ICT) programs and projects of the Department of Education (DepEd) Region I, Information Technology Officers (ITO) attended the Capacity Development Training on Database Management and Web Literacy for Information Technology at Coconut Grove, Bauang, La Union on November 4-6, 2015.

The training aimed to equip IT Officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively implement ICT programs and projects in their respective divisions. It was attended by IT Officers from the 14 schools divisions in region 1.

The participants were introduced to the updates and advantages of using the Google Community, web applications, creating database management and relational database. They were also oriented on the Basic Office Protocol under DepEd rationalized structure. The attendees actively participated in the workshops which resulted into positive outputs.

DepEd recognizes the importance of computerized system in the attainment of its goals in improving the services and enhancing the educational system. With the skills and knowledge imparted during the training, DepEd continuously adapt and upgrade current trends in ICT to facilitate the implementation of systems-based integration in curriculum and public service.
