DepEd Caraga holds Regional K to 12 Conference
BUTUAN CITY – “Individually, we are one drop, together we are an ocean”, an inspiring quotation or wisdom which posed challenges to all the participants that in the full implementation of K to 12 program it requires unified effort to make the execution successful. OIC-Regional Director DR. MAY B. ECLAR, CESO V said upon ending the panel discussion of Regional K to 12 Conference held on January 25-26, 2016, Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City. The two-day regional conference marked an actual attendance of 584 participants-key officials from both public and private schools as well as delegates from Higher Educational Institutions, State Universities and Colleges, and Technical-Vocational Institutions. Dr. Isidro M. Biol, Jr., Chief of CLMD recognized the presence of the participants by presenting every division by calling them in terms of geographical location started from the farthest to the nearest division and followed by those offices of HEIs, TVIs, and SUCs. On the other hand, Dr. Ramir B. Uytico, CESO IV said in his opening remarks, “Republic Act No. 10533 punctuates everyone’s apprehension whether or not K to 12 will be implemented.” We must improve access to quality Basic K to 12 Education in order to attain the success of the program. The success surely depends on the Superintendents of the 12 Divisions. Sit back and relax because the best of DepEd –Caraga Region is yet to come, he added. Two Technical Assistants for Senior High School from DepEd-Central Office, Ms. Ester C. Pingzon and Mr. Kevin Lee B. Galaneda attended and graced the said significant event. Some representatives coming from other government institutions were also attending displaying gesture of their support as partners of the advocacy campaign for the proper implementation of Senior High School (SHS).During the course of the panel discussion, the participants were updated on how far the preparation made in order to properly address and fully implement K to 12 program particularly the Senior High School. Some issues were derived from the contents of the presentation of the updates. Dr. Eclar acted as the moderator thereby ensuring the flow of the discussion.All the participants displayed their interest and participation in the parallel sessions conducted. They considered the event significant. For them it was an opportunity to share their respective experiences with no other noble paramount aim but to fully execute the program of SHS and attain success. With the sharing of experiences, the DepEd-Caraga luminaries believed that their collaborative effort to fully implement the K to 12 program particularly SHS will make every student be equipped with global competence. Dr. Uytico upon giving his synthesis appeared so grateful and said, “What my heart dictates this afternoon is a thanksgiving after all the series of preparation.” These words punctuated this two-day educational endeavor. He was so delighted together with Dr. Eclar and acknowledged the effort exerted by all divisions headed by their respective Schools Division Superintendent and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent for extending all out support and considered them the wind beneath his wings.“After everything has been said and done, what is left in my heart is a prayer that all of us will be healthy so that we can always take care of the children entrusted by God to us. Maayong hapon, happy trip back home,” said Dr. Ramir ending his synthesis.
